Alderman Finlay said: “I warmly welcome the news that Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council has secured funding of £350,000 from the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure for a state-of-the art multi-purpose 3G pitch. This money, along with £100,000 of Council funding, will hopefully enable work to begin quite soon.

“A number of possible locations were considered by the Council, and, as someone who lobbied long and hard on Ballymoney Borough Council for 3G facilities in the town, I am extremely pleased that the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre has been chosen as the most deliverable location.

“I am delighted that my efforts, and that of my colleagues, have now borne fruit. The new pitch will greatly enhance the quality of the sporting facilities available in Ballymoney, and I look forward to its early completion”.
