Chief Inspector Stephen Reid said: “We have had anti-social behaviour in Glengormley across the summer months and we have warned of the potential for more arrests.

“We don’t set out to arrest young people. However, we’ve warned of the potential consequences of anti-social behaviour through social media and newspapers. We’ve spent time out in schools last week and spoke with community representatives about the issue. The criminal justice system will deal with the young people who choose not to listen to the advice and many warnings.

“I do not want to see more young people arrested. However, consequences are a part of life and as a police service we must act to keep people safe.”

Chief Inspector Reid concluded: “I would again ask that parents, guardians and community leaders help young people to make the right choices.”
