Gracehill & Galgorm WI

MANY visitors were welcomed to the May meeting of Gracehill & Galgorm Women's Institute, which was Visitors Night. Two of our highly esteemed members, Mrs Ann Sambrook and Mrs Ismay McKendry, passed away recently and members stood in tribute to their memory.Sympathy has been extended to their families.

The focus of the meeting was a fashion show .Several members braved the catwalk and modelled clothing and accessories from Klass Collection and Paco - both firms at Junction One. The winners of the competition “A Fashion Accessory” were Yvonne O’Neill, Rosemary Frayne and Lynda Brooks. The President Nina Marrs gave the vote of thanks after which a delicious supper was served.

At the Area Spring Meeting, held recently in Cullybackey High School, Gracehill & Galgorm Institute won the Jane Black Trophy. Mrs. Marrs congratulated those members who had worked hard at their entries in the various categories of competition.

An immensely enjoyable evening ended with singing of “A Countrywoman’s Song”.
