Indecent assault charges

A 50-year-old man from Lisburn has appeared at Londonderry Magistrates Court charged with indecently assaulting a boy more than 30 years ago.

John Curry, from Duncans Road in Lisburn, faces six counts of indecently assaulting a male child under the age of 17 between 1979 and 1982.

His defence solicitor accepted he has a prima facie case to answer. The defendant was released on bail to reappear at the crown court on 28 August.

The defendant told the court he had nothing to say at this stage in answer to the charges. He was also ordered to reside at his home address and not to contact any prosecution witnesses.
