Irish language charity box found smashed by police after theft from Coalisland taxi firm

Police are appealing for help to find to find the person who stole and smashed an Irish language charity box from Island Taxis. The broken box and some of its contents were found by officers patrolling the town on Thursday morning.

They said: “Any type of theft is bad enough, but stealing from a charity is the lowest of the low.”

Anyone within formation is being urged to contact Cookstown Neighbourhood Police on the 101 number.

The charity box belonged to TACA Supporting Irish Language.
