Kind gesture in memory of Feargal

By Kellie McKilloapBALLYCASTLE High School pupils have made a warm gesture in memory of a former fellow student.

Sixth Form students of Ballycastle High School held a coffee morning on Tuesday of last week in aid of the Meningitis Foundation.

Feargal McCaughan was an ex Sixth Form student of Cross and Passion College in Ballycastle who died a short time after contracting Meningitis. The teenager had only been at College for a week and his passing caused great sorrow amongst his many friends.

The strong collaboration between Cross and Passion and Ballycastle High School saw Feargal spend a lot of his Sixth Form life in the High School, where he was well thought of and many keen memories were created.

A number of students at Ballycastle Highl took it upon themselves to organize a coffee morning to pay tribute to their pal.

The organizers included; Lauren Morrison, Claire Wilson, Danielle Moore, Ben Kennedy, Rebekah McFarland, Steven Morrison, Courtney Logan and Naomi McCaw.

Approximately 200 people were in attendance to remember the life of Fergal McCaughan and 670 was raised in aid of Meningitis Research. The cheque will be handed over to a representitve on Friday.
