The opportunity has arisen for Rian Humphries (21) and Bradley Cuthbert (22) through YMCA’s Trilateral Youth Leaders exchange.

Rian and Bradley have already represented YMCA Ireland at Southampton where they worked with young people from England, Ireland and Kosovo over the course of a week.

The programme included personal development, youth work tools, training ideas and discovering the history of YMCA.

Reflecting on the experience, Bradley stated: “This trip completely changed my life and I wouldn’t change it for the world.”

Rian commented: “The week touched my heart and changed my outlook towards people.”

Both have been members of the Health Hub - located at Irish Quarter West for young people to drop in for advice, support and information - for over a year and through their personal growth have gained volunteering roles with the YMCA’s youth department.

Rian and Bradley will be holding a fun interactive evening with the young people from England and Kosovo on February 22 whilst on their second trip of the Trilateral exchange. This exchange will be in Northern Ireland (Greenhill YMCA) leading up to their visit to Kosovo in June.

Rian and Bradley will then use this experience for the benefit of the youth work they do in Carrick.
