Local business community is given praise

THE CHIEF Executive of Ballymena Borough Council has lavished praise on the town centre's business community for the significant part they continue to play in plans to regenerate the area.

Speaking out at last Tuesday night’s monthly meeting of the local authority, Mrs Anne Donaghy commended the work carried out by businesspeople in tandem with elected representatives and described herself “overwhelmed by their enthusiasm and passion to make Ballymena Town Centre a better place to shop”.

Her remarks were readily supported by Deputy Mayor and Chairman of the Town Centre Partnership, PJ McAvoy, and also by former Mayor, Cllr Maurice Mills, who praised the contribution made by both the traders and the voluntary sector.

“They have really set themselves about this task,” he said.
