Magherafelt crash survivor in 'critical condition'

One of the young men badly burned in a single vehicle crash in Magherafelt remains in a critical condition in the Royal Victoria Hospital.

The other is said to be in a stable condition at the same Belfast hospital, according to a spokesperson from the Belfast Health Trust today. They are both in their 20's and from the Toome and Magherafelt areas.The pair were in a BMW car which is believed to have collided with a telegraph pole shortly after 2pm on Sunday.They suffered severe burns and other injuries.The car burst into flames shortly after crashing and ended up in the middle of King Street near the Fairhill junction.Three passers-by helped to free the injured men and comforted them at the scene until the arrival of emergency services.Magherafelt PSNI are investigating the accident.
