Since the Dungannon Road was closed for pipe-laying works the incident led to major traffic jams as drivers were being diverted along Sandholes Road to reach Cookstown.

Police, who attended the scene, said the crash was reported to them shortly before 4.45pm on Friday, June 17.

A spokesperson said: “A man and woman, both aged in their 30s, were taken to hospital following the RTC as a precaution. The road reopened to traffic at approximately 6.30pm.”
