Man was abusive and foul mouthed

A taxi driver took a drunk 29-year-old man to the police station because he was causing a nuisance in his car, Londonderry Magistrates' Court has heard.

Cathal Feeney, of Crawford Square, became abusive to police after he refused to leave the taxi on February 23.

The court heard he wouldn’t get out of the car and that he was drunk and causing a nuisance, telling officers to “f--- off”. He was abusive and pushed the officers.

Deputy District Judge Liam McStay suspended a two month sentence for 18 months.
