McShane welcomes plans for Ballintoy Harbour toilet block

Moyle independent councillor Padraig McShane has welcomed news that a feasibility study will commence this financial year with a plan to transform the toilet block at Ballintoy Harbour.

“The Council has recognised the poor condition of the public convenience facility and has set aside £10,000 for the feasibility study plus design and planning to transform what could be a considerable asset at the harbour,” he said.

“Ballintoy Arts and Craft Centre with toilets and shower block could be in place by the end of 2015 with a total budget of £200,000 earmarked to transform the old limestone building. The initative could create a small cottage industry based on arts and crafts in the area.”
