MLA launches ‘Virtual Office’ service at Mallusk Enterprise Park

SOUTH Antrim MLA David Ford took time out from his busy schedule on Friday, August 3 to meet with local business owners at Mallusk Enterprise Park.

The Chair of the Enterprise Park, Noreen McClelland and Vice Chair, Raymond McIlrath welcomed the Justice Minister to the Mallusk Drive premises.

“We were delighted that David Ford launched our latest service to the business sector - Virtual Office Assistance. This is a range of secretarial and office services for businesses who really only need a person in the office for a few hours per week or per month. Our new service is designed to take the pressures of paperwork away from busy people and give them the time to devote to selling their product or service,” councillor McClelland explained.

Melanie Humphrey, CEO of the local enterprise agency, added: “Our primary objective is to assist new and growing businesses by offering suitable workspace for the small business along with a wide range of business support services designed to promote businesses to the stage when they can apply for further assistance to Invest NI. By launching our Virtual Office Assistance, business owners can opt to hire admin support for a few hours on a pay as you go fee. This cuts down their costs and eases the pressure on being a sole trader.”

Mr Ford, who met with a number of business owners during his visit, praised the work of staff at the business park.

“Mallusk Enterprise Park is a great example of how we can continue to encourage and assist local businesses in the Newtownabbey area, especially during these difficult economic times.

“As more and more businesses struggle to survive during the current climate, ventures like this are essential in providing help and support as needed,” he said.
