Molly meets stars of Panto

Ahoghill girl Molly Taylor, who has bravely battled Medulloblastoma, got the chance to meet some Panto stars at a special festive charity party.

Molly was diagnosed last year with Medulloblastoma -a type of brain tumour, and after a long 18 months’ of operations, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and stem cell replacement, she was given the all clear by doctors in September.

On Saturday, December 12, Molly and members of her family were among 118 children and parents who met Santa and the cast of the Grand Opera House’s Christmas Panto ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarves’ at the Cancer Fund for Children’s annual Christmas Party in the Culloden Estate and Spa.

The children also had the chance to meet Father Christmas who gave them a special present donated by Cool FM/Downtown Radio’s Cash for Kids through its annual Toy Drive and enjoy arts and crafts before dancing the afternoon away to some festive tunes.

Cancer Fund for Children’s Services Manager Angela Rodgers said: “Our annual Christmas party at the Culloden Hotel and Spa is the largest event we hold for families during the year and everyone looks forward to it. It forms part of a range of services we deliver over the festive period to help make life a little more festive for families whose lives have been devastated by cancer at a stressful time. For many children who are going through treatment and are isolated in home or at hospital, this Christmas party is the only chance for them to get out, have fun and socialise with other children.”
