Ó hOisín bemoans loss of Milk Cup sponsorship

East Londonderry MLA Cathal O hÓisín has expressed disappointment at the decision of the Dairy Council to end its sponsorship of the Milk Cup.

The Sinn Féin MLA said: “The Milk Cup is probably the foremost amateur soccer tournament in the North so I am disappointed that the Dairy Council has ended it sponsorship.

“The Dairy Council needs to be thanked for its long term investment in this competition over the past thirty years and I hope that they will in the future return in some capacity.

“The Milk Cup, apart from being a premier soccer tournament, is also a major economic driver in the North West so I am pleased that the organisers have stated that the future is secure. This competition needs to attract other sponsorship and I have been a long term supporter of the competition and recognise the economic benefits it brings to Coleraine and Limavady area.”
