Police mount ‘ghost town’ patrols
The Loughgiel area was practically deserted on Saturday and Inspector David Anderson of Ballymoney Police said patrols gave the area extra attention to ensure thieves did not take advantage.
By midday on Monday there were no reports of any burglaries or thefts in the Loughgiel area.

Hide Ad* Tuesday March 13 - Ballymoney Police said a 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage and was bailed to come back to Coleraine Police Station on March 20.
* Tuesday March 13 - A man (47) was arrested in connection with an alleged assault on a female in Balnamore and was reelased on bail to April 3.
* Saturday March 17 - Between 6pm and 7pm a house was entered via a downstairs window at Carnfinton Park, Rasharkin, and a sum of money stolen. It is believed the burglar left by the rear door. Police say such an incident is a rear occurrence in Rasharkin and they are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious to get in touch.
* Police are appealing for people not to drink and drive after three people were arrested on suspicion of such an offence in the Ballymoney Borough in recent days.

Hide AdOn Tuesday March 13 a woman (27) was arrested in the Ballymoney town area; a woman (27) was arrested at Garryduff Road on Thursday March 15 after a one vehicle collision when minor injuries were sustained and on Saturday March 17, a man (52) was arrested in Rasharkin.
