Police seek info on spate of fires

WITNESSES are being sought by police investigating a spate of fires in and around Ballymena last week.

In particular they are seeking assistance in identifying a number of youths who started fires in bushes close to the tunnel at Dunvale on Friday evening.

The fire service was called to deal with the blaze shortly before 5.30pm.

The youths were described as being in their mid teens. One was wearing a grey top and the others blue tops.

Police are also investigating gorse fires at the Ecos Centre (Friday); on waste ground at Cushendall Road (Friday); a gorse fire at Dunclug (Friday); a gorse fire at Barra Drive (Saturday); and, a gorse fire at Harryville Motte (Sunday).
