Police vehicle damaged during disturbance

A MAN has been arrested following a disturbance in the Doury Road Estate in Ballymena during the early hours of last Thursday morning.

No one was injured however a police vehicle sustained serious damage.

Enquiries into the incident are continuing and police would appeal for assistance from the community in identifying those involved.

Area Commander Chief Inspector Ryan Henderson said: “This mindless action by local criminals is an attack on the decent people in Doury Road Estate who had their local policing disrupted last night.

“Thankfully no-one was injured and our routine patrolling of the estate has already been restored, with local Neighbourhood officers back providing a personal service to the community.

“Anyone who was in the area last night or who has any information which could help the investigation should contact detectives at Ballymena PSNI station on 0845 600 8000. Information can also be given to the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111."
