The urban sports facility will provide facilities for urban street sports including: skateboarding, in-line skating, and BMXing.

It will feature a concrete bowl with street furniture to allow for grinding moves.

Skateboarders have been involved with the initial design work and this is a chance for any young people who will be using the facilities to have their say. The council are seeking to fine tune the design of the facility based on the feedback they receive.

Gillian Dewart, Sports Development Officer for Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council said, “This is an exciting time for all urban sports enthusiasts in the borough.

“The demand for this facility has been prevalent for a number of years and we are delighted that plans are now available for view. I would encourage everyone with an interest to attend.”

Urban sports has become more popular in recent years and the new Banbridge facility joins the Bridges Urban Sports Park and T13 Urban Sports Academy, both in Belfast, in providing a space for people to take part.
