Report into MEA warden levels
The update was given in response to a tabled question from Councillor Mark McKinty during Monday night’s meeting of the Operational Committee, which read: “Could the committee be appraised of current dog warden staff levels?”
A report outlined that Ballymena has a borough warden and two assistant wardens, with two enforcement officers in Carrickfergus. In Larne, the environmental warden post is currently vacant, but an assistant environmental warden is in post.
The current consultation on dog control orders will be used to help officers in their consideration of a co-ordinated approach to dog fouling, the report added.
