Reports of anti-social behaviour on the rise in Larne, police warn

These reports have included groups of young people climbing onto flat roofs.

In one incident, the youths are said to have thrown stones towards the road, potentially endangering motorists.

Police claim that such incidents contribute not only to levels of anti-social behaviour, but to safety concerns for everyone in the town.

Inspector Glynis Kirkwood-Nagar said: “Police are asking for the support of parents and guardians in keeping children and young people out of the criminal justice system.

“What is perceived as a bit of fun can quickly change. As parents, do you know where your child is?

“Do you know who they are with and importantly do you know what they are doing?

“With improving weather and longer evenings, please work with us ensure that your children are safe.”
