Roadworks at Kilmore Bridge

WORK on a major bridge strengthening scheme began in Lurgan this week after the collapse of an existing culvert.

The bridge is on the Kilmore Road in the town (C152).

Road Service is replacing the damaged structure and a full closure of the Kilmore Road is in place. All traffic will be diverted onto the (B12) Cornakinneager Road and the (C362) Old Kilmore Road.

The scheme is expected to be completed by May 18, subject to favourable weather conditions, and the public will be kept informed of any changes.

“Roads Service has carefully programmed the works operations and traffic management arrangements in order to minimise any inconvenience to the public, however motorists should be aware that some delays may be expected and that additional time should be allowed when planning any journeys,” said a spokesperson.
