Rotary Tree of Hope raises £5,000 for charity
Jim Dunlop, President of the Carrickfergus club, welcomed Dawn Young and Patricia Pearson, representing Children’s Hospice; Dawn Weir, Diane Strain and Ashley Hunter, representing Action Cancer and Diane Ritchie to receive the donation on behalf of Diabetes UK.
The donations were a result of collections at the Tree of Hope sited at Tesco’s store in Carrickfergus.

Hide AdEach of the recipients expressed delight and gratitude on behalf of their organisation and gave a brief insight into how the money would be used for the benefit of others.
Mr Dunlop extended thanks to all those who helped organise the Rotary Tree of Hope, those who collected, Anne Ritchie and Tesco management for facilitating the venture and shoppers who contributed so generously.
He reminded those present that Carrickfergus Rotary Club’s Tree of Hope has operated at Tesco for the past nine years and raised a total of £85,000 for local charities.
