'Safer Route' scheme coming to Barnish?
Following a request from Councillor Mc Shane, Road Service have written to Moyle Council outlining improved signage at the school and a stretch of footway opposite the school.
A further footway to the school has been listed for future Roads Service programmes. They have also committed to an assessment on the Safer Routes To School scheme.

This signage has a proven track record of slowing down vehicular traffic and in doing so will ensure the safety of the parents, children, staff and other road users on the Cushendall Road.
"While this is an important first step to having this scheme implemented, it is by no means assured. I will continue, along with parents and the Board of Governors of Barnish, to highlight this necessary Road Safety feature until it becomes a reality.”
