Sex assault: Appeal

Police have appealed for witnesses following the report of a sexual assault in the St Columb’s Park Londonderry on Friday night, July 24.

It was reported that a 17-year-old girl was in the area of the park around midnight when she was approached by an unknown male and assaulted. He is described as being aged in his 30s.

Detective Inspector Lynne Knox said: “I would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area at the time to contact Police on the non-emergency number 101.

Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information anonymously, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them on 0800 555 111.”
