Six cars keyed on Princes Street

Police in Ballymena are investigating the ‘keying’ of six cars parked at Princes Street.

A PSNI spokesperson said that paintwork on all six vehicles was damaged with a sharp item and added that the damage followed a similar incident in the same area last week.

Inspector Alison Ferguson described it as “unnecessary and vindictive”.

She said: “This criminal damage appears to have been caused by someone walking along and indiscriminately keying a row of cars. It’s frustrating for the car owners and expensive for them to repair.

“Police officers are in the Princes Street area very regularly, both on foot and in cars. We will be keeping an eye out for the person or people responsible for this damage. It is an unnecessary and vindictive thing to do and we will be making arrests where we can.”
