Spring in the air at Garden Club

Ballymena Garden Club members have been learning how to prepare their gardens for spring at their recent meeting.

Derrick Turbitt, from Portstewart, gave a presentation on the subject to those gathered, including several new members.

Derrick, who is a well known daffodil breeder and exhibitor, demonstrated that he was an expert in the cultivation of a wide range of other spring bulbs including snowdrops, crocuses, irises, hyacinths and tulips.

This was the final talk of the winter series.
