Swann visits William Pinkerton
Robin was taken on a tour of the school by Mrs Stewart the school principal where he met members of staff and the pupils.
He said: “The importance of maintaining rural primary schools is an issue across North Antrim given the integral part they play in the life of the local community. I am delighted to have been given the chance to visit the William Pinkerton School and look forward to working with the school in the future.”

Hide AdAlso on the tour was local Dervock and District Community Associations vice chairperson Steven Phillips whose older children attended the school in the past and whose youngest son Theo will be a pupil in around two years from now.
Steven said: “This is an excellent school with extremely good results and above all else it is the heart of the village and community of Dervock.
“The school has a breakfast club which is very popular and an after school club. We are very lucky to have the school here in Dervock and the dedication of the staff is staggering.”
