Two arrests: Man in bar threatened with knife

Police have appealed information following a report that a man was threatened by another person brandishing a knife.

The incident is alleged to have occurred at a bar on Spencer Road at about 7.55pm on Wednesday March 16.

A PSNI spokesman said a man entered a bar and threatened another man, pulling out a knife. On leaving got into a blue car. No-one was injured in the incident.

“Just after 8.20pm, police arrested two men, one aged 42, the other 21, at Manorwood, on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon,” the spokesman said.

“The younger was also arrested on suspicion of obstructing police. A knife was found in the car that they were in and it was seized. They were later released.”

Both were granted police bail pending further enquiries.
