During early 2015, all year 9 classes took part in the transport body’s Travel Challenge, which aimed to increase sustainable travel within the year group.

Over the course of the challenge, students were encouraged to travel using sustainable methods to and from school.

As a year group, year 9 racked up some 5044 kilometres worth of sustainable travel during the challenge.

Class 9CNV travelled the most sustainable distance of any class in Northern Ireland and won a day out from Translink, along with £150 for the school Eco Team.

Last month, the form group travelled to the Ulster Museum and enjoyed a fun day out.

They were accompanied by the travel and tourism sixth form classes who used the opportunity to conduct research for upcoming business plan presentations, and also for experience for unit 6 ‘preparing for employment’.

Meanwhile, the school congratulated 10CNV for winning the national competition.
