Work begins on new MUGA for Mourneview

Work began this week on the new Multi-Use Games Area in Mourneview much to the delight of one local councillor.

DUP Councillor Carla Lockhart welcomed the commencement of the Mourneview MUGA this week saying: “I am delighted that eventually after a few technical hitches that Mourneview Multi Use Games Area work has commenced and will be delivered in the with the next 10 to 12 weeks.

“This will be a great facility for the area and particularly the young people and young families.

“The location will be a safe area and will be of great benefit to the children of Dickson Primary School also, the school which many of the children of the estate attend.”

She added: “This complements the new park and I am delighted that Mournview, Grey and the Hospital Estate are starting to get their fair share of money.

“This I believe is only the start of things to come for the south Lurgan community.”

Ms Lockhart concluded: “I am looking forward to seeing the delivery of this facility and would thank the Department for Social Development for providing the money and council for doing the preparatory work.”
