Youth arrested after being caught with arm stuck in letterbox

He was detained at around 4.10am on Thursday morning after being spotted by a police patrol in Margaretta Crescent.

The Fire and Rescue Service were called to free the youth.

Fire crews removed the letterbox from the door and the teenager was then taken to Lisburn custody where the letterbox was removed.

He remains in custody at present.

Police are investigating several other possible attempted break ins and a theft from a vehicle in the same area early this morning. The youth will be questioned on suspicion of attempted burglary and a number of other offences.
