Biesty’s Centra team - best in Ulster!
In two weeks they have racked up 6 gold team medals and gold, silver and bronze in individual events.
Yesterday it was the Ulster 100 mile TT championships on the A26 between Ballymena and Antrim.

Hide AdWith the best field in years and riders from Dublin and as far a field as Lithuania. But it was the local trio of Bryan McKinney, Mervyn Linton in his first ever 100 mile time trial and Steven McAllister who was ill all week and passed out at the finish. Such is the camaraderie of these lads as they rode themselves into the ground for each other. Bryan McKinney showed his true class yesterday beating the 2012 Irish Record
for 100 miles. But it was only good enough on the day as John Madden won the gold in a yet to be ratified by Cycling Ireland yet another Vets record of 3 hours 44 mins 52 seconds.
BCC’s super vet Tony Blaney grandfather to top U16 rider Ryan Orr recorded a personal best time of 4.54.05.

Hide AdThis proving to be a very successful year for the Biesty’s Centra Racing team with two championship gold medals for Stuart Laverty, 1 Irish National gold road medal for Ciaran McFadden, two silver medals for Bryan McKinney, two bronze medals for Ryan Orr and Ronan Sherman. And of course 6 gold team medals for the 25 mile and 100 mile TT
Championships. Not forgetting their dominant performances in winning the 6 race Inter club series for 2013.
Coming Events
As BCC Biesty’s Centra Racing team prepare for the 2014 season the High performance testing and training suite will be starting now in early October. For details of this contact club captain Jason Taggart for times and dates.
This winter there will be Wattbike racing, on screens and Wattbike power tests and sprints with a league and prizes at the end of the winter.
