Connolly’s claim first leg of potential ‘double’ with cup win

The Dunvale side won the Knockout Cup at the Festival of Pool, beating Dimaond Dazzlers 4-3 in a play-off.

Brett McLaughlin was Connolly’s hero, beating Adrian Rourke by two frames to nil in the decisive game, having lost by the same score to the same opponent during the regulation matches.

In the Shield competition, Fairhill Hustlers won the subsidary competition for the third year in succession, beating Coach Bar in the final.

Elsewhere in the Festival, Ritchie Irwin won the Captains’ prize, while Jimmy Knowles took the Seniors’ title.
