Club ready for massive weekend in title campaign

COLERAINE Cricket Club is ready for the biggest weekend in its history as the destination of the Long’s SuperValu North West Senior League could finally be decided.

It is a massive weekend for the Bannsiders who face nearest challengers Brigade in a double header on Saturday and Sunday with Coleraine knowing two wins will see them crowned champions.

Coleraine have been the league’s pace setters all season and currently lead Brigade by two points with three games to go.

The Bannsiders victory over Bready on Saturday means their fate is in their own hands as they travel to Beechgrove on Saturday before entertaining their opponents at Sandel Lodge some 24 hours later.

A win each would leave both teams hanging on the final games to be played on September 7th, but if either team wins both, it would almost certainly be the decider for who will be League Champions this year.

The match on Sunday at Sandel Lodge, the last home game for the first XI this year, will be the biggest game of the weekend in the North West, but but is without doubt the most important of the season for Coleraine.

The team would appreciate a huge home crowd to help them finish the season not only as Ulster Champions but by adding the Premier league title to their name.

The game starts at 12 noon and you are encouraged to come along to watch and give the team your support.
