Twelve months ago it was Keith Martin who collected the title and the former World Champion from County Tyrone has indicated his intention to defend the title.

The fastest cars on the province’s ovals are sure to provide a high speed afternoon of short track action, with some interesting names amongst the entry. Former Open Hot Rod racer Bill McCurdy from Broughshane is poised to make his National debut on New Year’s Day at the wheel of a Vauxhall Tigra B, and there will be a welcome return to the premier class for Londonderry based Davy Gurney. Adam Maxwell currently lies second in the World Qualifying Series after an impressive campaign in 2013 and the Crumlin charger will be one to watch on New Year’s Day.
