Carniny Youth FC round-up: Under-15s lead the way

IT was left to the Under 15s to lead the way for Carniny Youth last Saturday when they fought out a close game in the National League with North West side Limavady Youth, coming away with a 1-0 win at the Showgrounds.

The Under 13s took on top side Dungannon Youth in the tough top division of their National League, unlucky to lose, with an own goal not helping their cause.

The Under 14s also lost out to their league leaders, Crusaders in an afternoon kick off with both the Under 9s and 10s having a disappointing day up in the North West against Coleraine Academy and Northend Youth.

IFA THANKS

Carniny Amateur & Youth FC would like to thank local IFA development officer Wes Gregg and his colleagues at the Irish Football Association for the invite for the club’s under 10 side to take part in an exhibition of small sided football at half time in last week’s Northern Ireland v Azerbaijan World Cup qualifier at Windsor Park.

It certainly was quite an experience for the children who were joined by other recognized games development centres at Ballymena YA, Ballymoney YA and Chimney Corner.

For full match reports, club news and picture coverage of the under-15s’ game against Limavady, see this week’s Ballymena Times.
