Championship 1: Bangor 3 v Larne 0

There was no change in Larne’s fortunes at Clandeboye Park on Saturday as the home side ran out easy 3-0 winners. The defeat could have been much heavier for the lacklustre Reds who had nothing to offer, with only one shot on goal.

Both sides lacked quality in the opening half and the home side wasted three clear-cut chances.

Before Larne had settled at the start of the second half Bangor took the lead. A poor clearance from Nathan Morley-Hillen was headed back into the unguarded net by Gareth McLaughlin.

They doubled their lead six minutes later: this time Keith Armstrong headed a Thomas Lambe free-kick into the net.

Eight minutes from time Paul Maguire was unlucky to see his well struck shot rattle the crossbar, before substitute Sean Cahill fired a low shot into the corner for Bangor’s third.

Larne: Morley-Hillen, S.Todd, Simms, McAllister, Carland, McClean, Young, Wharry, Maguire, Workman, McGinley. Subs: Braden (McGinley), Wharry (Workman), Irvine, Beggs (Young).
