Collins targets loan signings

Derry City manager Roddy Collins continues his search to add players to his squad for the 2014 season.

The Dubliner, who has held talks with former Hibernian and Institute winger Ivan Sproule recently, is currently in England hoping to lure Irish players in particuarly to come back home on loan.

“I want to bring some fresh blood in; young, hungry, enthusiastic people that deserve it. Poeple with something to prove. That’s what I’m looking for and that’s what I’m over here for,” stated Collins.

“The contacts I have at the clubs are going to loan players out to me. The clubs are going to help. I’ve done it all in the past before, I know what the return will be.”

Bradford City defender Carl McHugh, who last season played a starring role in their Capital One Cup run, and Carlisle United’s Leon McSweeney, who is a free agent in January, are both thought to be target’s for the ex-Bohemians gaffer.
