Homers, who completed an unprecedented Junior Cup and Junior Shield double last season, have strengthened their squad by snapping up Jason Stewart from rivals Ahoghill Thistle.

Stewart was captain of Thistle, who have been Homers’ closest challengers in the past couple of seasons, but he has opted to join the champions, where he will link up with younger brother Ryan.

Ahoghill boss Stewart McDonald’s side face something of a rebuilding process with a number of players departing.

They include Alan Moore, who has joined Cullybackey Blues, and Gareth Dickey, who has rejoined Raceview, where he had a successful spell previously.

Against that, Thistle have signed Jamie Willighan, who has been a prolific scorer at intermediate level with Chimney Corner.

Another player on the move is Carniny Rangers skipper Ryan Bamber, who has opted to try his luck at intermediate level with Wakehurst.
