Milk Cup coaching teams revealed

Stefan Seaton has been appointed Head of Football for the Country Antrim sides set to compete in July’s Milk Cup.

Seaton, who also retains his position as manager of the junior team, said: “Its a tremendous honour to be responsible for the football side of things in my county’s participation at the Milk Cup.

Former Carrick Rangers skipper David McAlinden returns as Seaton’s assistant-manager, Nathan Hanley heading up Sports Science, and Linfield stopper Ross Glendinning, from Newtownabbey, is goalkeeping coach.

Mark Sweeney is the new manager of County Antrim’s junior side, replacing Danny Clarkin. ‘I’d like to thank Danny for the tremendous job he did as my assistant, then as premier manager,” said Seaton. “We’re delighted that Mark has agreed to come in as manager; he’s an excellent coach and person and I’m positive the premier team will be in good hands with him.”

Mervyn Montgomery is Sweeney’s assistant, while Jim Gorman, Gary Finn and Matt Ewing make up the coaching team.

The County Antrim team have also attracted renewed sponsorship from Pharmalink Consulting, while AES Ballylumford has also come on board.

Trials for both teams began earlier this month with the squads set to be announced on June 1.
