Northend quartet secure prestigious Coerver coaching qualification

As part of their on-going Continued Professional Development, Northend United had four of their coaches gaining a Coerver Coaching Youth Diploma at the weekend.

John Devlin, Ally McGarry, Eoin Hudson and Brian O’Hara were all accredited with the prestigious award.

These coaching diplomas further strengthen the partnership between the Coerver Coaching and Northend United, dating back to last year, when the ambitious Ballymena Club reached an agreement with Coerver Coaching for the next three years.

On the playing front, the older teams in the National League and Lisburn League have already wrapped up their playing season. Next weekend will see some of the younger team’s wrap up their proceedings in the North West and Coleraine District Youth League with cup finals day, being held in Ballysally.

The Under 10 United will play their League Plate final tournament against Coleraine Alexander, Limavady Colts and Dungiven Celtic, whilst the Under 12 team will play their League Plate Final tournament against Moyola Olympic and Roe Valley

On Friday night, both of Ally McGarry’s U8 teams were again in action, when they travelled to Ballymoney to play in the IFA sponsored small sided games tournament against the host club as well as Coleraine and Ballymena United.

Finally, the Club’s Football Development Centre continued on Friday night at the Ballymena Showgrounds 3G with close to thirty boys and girls enjoying their first steps in football, under the direction of Northend’s Football Development Officer, John Devlin.

Friday night saw both U8 teams continue the third week of a 6 week programme in Ballymoney in conjunction with the IFA and Ballymoney United. In a great set up, both teams were paired up against teams from Coleraine FC, Ballymena United and Ballymoney United. Both teams played 5 games and an enjoyable night was had by all.

FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT CENTRE

Northend United’s Football Development Centre continues on Friday 25th May at the Showgrounds 3G pitch. The Football Development Centre is open to all boys and girls aged 4 to 9 inclusive who are unconnected with any other Club and takes place each Friday night from 6.00pm to 7.30pm.

AWARDS NIGHTS

With the season drawing to a close, an important date for your diary is the end-of-season Northend United Youth FC Awards Nights.

The Junior Awards Night for the U8s, U9s, U10s and U11s will be held on Wednesday 28th May at the Michelin Club.

The Senior Awards Night for the U12s, U13s, U14s, U15s and U17s will also be held at the Michelin Club on Thursday 29th May

Northend United are already planning for next season and are holding their open trial nights on Wednesday 18th June and Thursday 19th June at Eaton Park.

The Junior Open Night for 2003s to 2006s will be held on the Wednesday 18th June while the Senior Open Night for the 1999’s to 2002s will be held on Thursday 19th June. All new players will be most welcome.

U19 TEAM FOR 2014/15 SEASON

Northend United and Wakehurst FC are excited to announce that they are forming an U19 team to compete in the NIFL Youth League next season.

Following a successful trials event during the week, the team is now up and running and the management team of Phil Hanlon and Mickey Tolan are looking forward to getting a number of friendly fixtures under their belt as the team prepares for a pre-season tournament.
