Having picked up four points from their opening two games, Kee believes his teams should travel to Dixon Park full of confidence.

Ballyclare away is no mean feat and they have good credentials and it’s going to be tough at their place,” stated Kee.

“We have to make sure that we go and keep on doing the things that we are doing.

“In fairness we have always felt that it would take us a couple of weeks to fully get going, because we had a lot of boys on holidays, boys missing and we have to make sure that we give them good respect and make sure that we keep on doing what we have to do.”

The Waterside men had Comrades watched at the weekend and although they scored five goals, they did concede two against amateur side Lower Maze in their Steel & Sons Cup tie.

In their opening game in the Championship, Eddie Hill’s side had a hard fought 1-1 draw with Donegal Celtic, last night (Tuesday) they travelled to Taylor’s Avenue to face title favourites Carrick Rangers.

“We had Iam McFaul watching them on Saturday, so we have a good understanding of what they do and how they do it, but as I said we need to make sure that we work hard.

“If we work then we are alright, but if we don’t then we are in bother, because we get a wee bit complacent, naïve and static and that’s what happened at times against Coagh, but when we were at it on Saturday, we looked a different side and we need to be right at it.

“I want us to be stronger defensively as a team, particularly when crosses are coming in, I just want someone to go and head the ball, or go and get a foot to it, but we’ll look at it and work at it this week at training.”

New signing Colm McLaughlin maybe available to feature, but one man who is extremely doubtful is in-form midfielder Michael McCrudden.

The talented Gobnascale man jarred his knee after making a challenge during last weekend’s victory over Coagh United, where he scored two penalties.
