His back nine got off to a bad start with a no score at the 10th but he recovered well with another few par holes to score 22 points

Runner-up Jackie Ross (18) got off to an horrendous start with double bogeys at the first and the third but he followed this up with four pars and a birdie to hit 21 points in the front nine.

The back nine was something similar when he doubled-bogeyed the ninth and the tenth and followed this with four pars, but another double bogey at the 15th probably cost him first prize.

Jim McGrath (19) had no worse than a five in his front nine and in fact his only slip through 18 holes was a double bogey at the 13th. Jim finished on 42 points and took third place. Ivor Harron won Best Gross.

WEDNESDAY HAT

The Wednesday Hat was won by Craig Tiffen after a count-back when both he and Raymond Rodgers finished on 42 points.
