In the last week of what the ladies fondly call the “turkey competition” the three winners of the mythical turkey were Lady Captain Pam Graham 20 pts, Claire White 22 pts and Pat Carville 21 pts.

Pam has had a great years golf in her Captain’s year so it is very appropriate that she finished off by winning one of the last turkeys.

She had a very tidy card with more or less straight bogeys and would have been a few points better but for a bit of misfortune at the last.

In section two Claire White secured her turkey with some steady golf and two nice pars in the last three holes.

There was a bit of a tussle over the bird in section three (nothing like Black Friday though) with one of the last players out in the week, Pat Carville, just beating Margaret Bryans on the count back. Brenda Gallery won the novice competition with 17 pts.

As the shortened course obviously helped all the ladies rumour has it that a lot of ladies are making it be their New Years resolution to visit the academy once a week to add 10 yards to all their shots, to see if they can record the same scores in the summer.

On the team front the last week proved to be a fierce contest with some great scores contributing to their teams which has led to a very tight finish. Priscilla Clayton and Ursula Dummigan had 24 pts and Sheila Horner continued her good run with 23 pts.
