Millar opened his round with a dropped shot on each of the opening two holes but then followed that with a run of four pars and a birdie, while two bogeys saw him out in 23 points. The final four holes were par, double bogey, bogey and a birdie at the last hole provided four points of his overall total of 33.

He had two points to spare from Thompson Eccles (11) whose round didn’t get off to the best possible start, dropping three shots on the opening three holes but the high point of his round was an eagle three at the ninth, which was worth five points.

Category one was won by Sean McGarry who, despite being out through the worst of the weather, played the course in level par and his round was made up of 11 pars and a dropped shot on the 11th which he reclaimed with a birdie on the par three fourth as he totalled 29 points.

Category two was won by William Greer (8) with 31 points. Having been level par gross after 10 holes, he bogeyed the 11th and doubled bogeyed the 12th before finishing his round with a par.
