Easter Monday

EASTER Monday was a beautiful day, thus ensuring a great turn-out of golfers at Edenmore.

There have been rounds of golf and there have been rounds of golf, but very few equalling the winning score of 15 handicapper Neill Usher.

The conditions were tough enough, with the greens getting slicker and the pins tucked away. Neill didn’t acknowledge any of this shooting an amazing 49 points.

The highlights of his game were an early birdie on the second hole followed by pars on nine of the next ten holes.

His eagle on the thirteenth was something else and just made it the round of his life.

He had two more pars on the way home for one of his best ever rounds at Edenmore.

Simon George shot, what would normally be a winning score of 43 points but on this occasion had to settle for the runners’ up spot.
