Fran hits the right note

On Tuesday the ladies choirmaster, Fran McCann, hit all the right notes at Lurgan to score a fantastic score of 41 points to take the top prize.

Fran had a steady card with a birdie at the 11th and while feeling the pressure on the last few holes held it together to record her best score of the season and to take top prize.

Niamh McSherry and Lynne Hanna proved that they don’t just play nicely as a pairing on the senior foursomes team but play equally well as individuals with Niamh taking the gross with 29 gross points and Lynne winning section one with 38 pts. Orla O’Dowd and Sian Mulholland just missed out on a prize but recorded great scores of 37 pts each.

Section two went to Eileen McCann with 37 pts. Eileen has done a great job with the juveniles over the summer months and it’s great to see her back to winning ways in her own golf.

Section three went to first time winner Audrey Spence with 37 pts so well done to Audrey.

The 9 hole competition winner was Sally Hayes.
