Griffiths wins ’Stute Open

ON Sunday Institute Football Club held its annual Open at Faughan Valley Golf Centre, which was well supported by the club members, in the qualifiers category.

First spot was decided on a BOT between Tony P Griffiths (11) and Martin Mailey (19) both carding 40 points, with Tony taking first place with a superior back nine, third spot was taken by six handicapper Paul Duffy with 39 points.

The gross prize going to Lee Totton (13) with 67 nett, the non qualifying prizes went to in first place Corey Wilson with 38 points, second was Norman Bates with 37 points and Stephen Adair took third spot with 36 points,

The winner of the front nine was Andrew Cooke with 22 points, back nine went to Stanley Lyle with 23 points, Nearest the Pin and the Longest Drive went to Paul Duffy and Lee O’Connor respectively and the highest score of the Juniors was Mathew Orr with 42 points.

The winner of the first Turkey card was Lee Totton with 43 points.
