James has BIN there, done it and got the trophy now after major victory
James Wilson, playing off 16, was the man to take the coveted prize of the BIN 66 sponsored stableford competition as he carded a fantastic seven under 43 points.
A reasonable day’s weather was sandwiched between two terrible days on Friday and Sunday to allow the competition to take place.

Hide AdWith the course being more receptive, just like the final day of the USPGA Championship on Sunday, there were some very good scores and Ian Magowan (15) played well for 41 points and third place overall.
Despite a great finish, Ian was beaten on count-back by another strong finish to his round by Cathal O’Neill (12) also on 41 points.
Cathal normally arrives well ahead of his 07:15 tee time and is well prepared for his round. Inexplicably, he started double-bogey, double-bogey on the first two holes but three birdies in the last four made sure of second place.
Winner James Wilson (16) was steadiness itself. He carded ten pars, seven bogies and one double bogey for a great score of 43 points and victory by a clear two shots. Well done James on winning one of the majors at Banbridge Golf Club.

Hide AdThe best gross score was compiled by Rory Leonard. Rory started with a bogey at the first and managed only 11 pars in the remaining 17 holes. Sounds a bit disappointing so far? Rory made birdies at the second, sixth, 13th and three on the trot in the last three holes to post a 64 and win the gross by a comfortable six shots from the next best.
Verdun Bond (14) won the best senior prize with 41 points, a very popular score on the day.
Banbridge Golf Club thank BIN 66 for their continued support.
